Agreement

These terms govern your use of CareerBank’s website and service. By creating an account or using CareerBank, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

CareerBank helps you capture career evidence, organise experience, and create tailored CVs for job applications. Features may include voice or text capture, CV upload and review, job advert analysis, matching, CV tailoring, and exports.

CareerBank provides tools and suggestions. You remain responsible for checking every CV, application, and claim before you use it. Do not submit or approve information you know is false.

Accounts

• You must provide accurate account information and keep access to your sign-in methods secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
• You may delete your account from Account settings. Deletion removes associated career data from active systems, subject to limited legal or billing records.

Plans and payment

CareerBank offers a free plan and paid options such as CareerBank Plus. Supported access may be available to eligible users under a separate written agreement. Plan limits, pricing, and eligibility are described on our pricing and plan pages.

• Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe according to the plan you choose.
• Unless stated otherwise, Plus subscriptions renew until you cancel.
• Supported-plan terms, success fees, and eligibility rules are set out in the agreement you sign before joining.
• Taxes may apply where required.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use CareerBank to create knowingly false or misleading applications;
• attempt to access another person’s account or private career data;
• upload unlawful, harmful, or abusive content;
• probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
• use automated scraping or bulk extraction beyond ordinary personal use of the product;
• resell or misuse CareerBank in a way that harms other users or the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the career content you upload or create. You grant CareerBank a limited licence to host, process, and display that content only as needed to provide the service to you, including AI processing used for transcription, extraction, analysis, and tailoring. We do not claim ownership of your CV or evidence.

AI suggestions and accuracy

CareerBank uses automated tools that may suggest wording, structure, matches, or summaries based on information you provide. Suggestions can be incomplete or wrong. Always review outputs before applying, exporting, or sending them. CareerBank is not a substitute for your own judgement about what is true, appropriate, or suitable for a particular employer.

Our intellectual property

CareerBank’s name, branding, website design, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except as needed to use the service or with our written permission.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep CareerBank available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features, limits, and pricing may change. We may suspend or end access if needed for maintenance, security, legal reasons, or breach of these terms.

Disclaimers

CareerBank is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the service will meet your employment goals, produce a particular outcome, or be free from errors. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerBank is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of £50 or the fees you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using CareerBank at any time and may delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or misuse the service. Provisions that should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits, will continue to apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws give you mandatory rights to bring claims in your local courts.
